Here's What's Up

It's August 26th and the summer is too quickly coming to an end.  Next month is September and then October!  What the heck!  Then we'll be waiting to see if this winter is as bad (meaning freezing and snowy) as last year. Trip to Roaring Springs was awesome!  I love summer. Today my sweet cousin Carrie is getting married at the Newport Beach LDS Temple in California.  I wish we could be there!  Thinking of her today!  It was probably a good decision to not spend money on a family trip this summer since Isaac's tongue tie issue took up a lot of our time and money.  But I still hate missing out on family get togethers. Isaac is pretty much the same.  He has happy moments and very sad moments.  He's tolerating the PT well.  I do mouth, tongue, and lip stretches on him a few times a day.  He's still clicking while nursing and swallowing a lot of air.  I met with a lactation consultant two days ago and she said she'...

Grouchy

On Monday, July 31st, I took Channing, Mckenzie, and Isaac to a physical therapy appointment to help Isaac with his tongue tie.  When Isaac was born the lactation consultant checked Isaac for tongue tie.  He was significantly tongue tied and the pediatrician clipped his frenulum when he was a day old.  Mckenzie was tongue tied as well but we didn't catch it till she was having problems nursing at 6 weeks old.  I was happy that we fixed Isaac's problem before he had problems nursing.  Unfortunately he started making a clicking noise while nursing when he was about 4 weeks old.  Since his tongue was already clipped I tried to be patient and assumed the problem would fix itself over time.  At his 2 month appointment Isaac was still clicking while nursing and he was swallowing a lot of air which makes him uncomfortable and grouchy.  The pediatrician thought his tongue could be clipped a little more, so he did.  I was patient (or sometimes not so ...

The good life

I like making blog posts about the big events that happen but I also really like writing about the daily, not so exciting, times.  I feel very lucky to have three healthy kids and a hard working husband.  The days when the kids and I stay at home and just hang out are some of the best days.  I love hearing Mckenzie and Channing talking.  Their conversations are so funny.  And they usually end up in a "yes" "no" argument...about nothing. Haha! Since becoming a parent I've learned a lot.  One thing in particular is that kids don't need much.  They're more than happy with simple toys, easy games, or just dancing to "Uptown Funk" for the 100th time.  These days often seem long and difficult but I want to remember the simple times when I had all my kids at home. This is the aftermath of one Oreo....  She rather turn it into goo instead of eating it.   Justin will often take Channing and Mckenzie to the store when we need some...

A blessing, 4th of July, and a 2nd birthday!

I'm not good at posting on our blog frequently, so when I do post something it usually consists of many events crammed into one post.  And this entry will be no exception! Ya'll ready for this? Cue Space Jam Theme song. I love Summer time.  You can go outside without bundling up and we spend a lot more time outside when it's warm.  Walks, fishing, picnics! Love it all! Fishing at the pond with daddy.  One of Mckenzie's and Channing's favorite things to do.  One day maybe they'll actually catch something! ;) On July 2nd we had Isaac's baby blessing.  Then afterwards the Hamilton's and the Crawford's came over for a taco dinner.  We love having family close by.  Makes these kind of events great. On July 4th we headed out to Lucky Peak with the Crawford's for some boat time!  Mckenzie was actually super comfortable going on the tube and even sitting on the easy wake trainer.  Channing wasn't too impressed with eith...

"I love you more than Jesus loves you."

Summer is officially here!  Things haven't changed much in the past few weeks.  Except that Isaac is growing so quick!  I swear he's twice the size he was a month ago.  Tomorrow he'll be 6 weeks old.  Channing and Mckenzie still love holding him and giving him kisses.  I hope I don't jinx it by saying this...but Isaac has slept from about 10pm to 3am, then about 4am to 7am every night this past week.  Thank you Isaac!! This is Isaac as I write this blog post.   I'll start off by first telling you what the title of this blog post is all about.  This is a quote by Channing.  For about a month now he randomly tells me "Mom, I love you more than Jesus loves you."  I think it's so cute and funny!  I don't know where he learned that from.  We have told him many times that Jesus and Heavenly Father love him very much.  So I guess he's used this knowledge to express how much he loves me.  So precious. Random n...

Meeting Isaac

Since Isaac was born in the evening we waited till the next day to have the kids meet him.  My mom brought Channing and Mckenzie in the morning to meet their new brother!  Their faces were a mixture of excitement, joy, and slight confusion.  Haha!  Channing wanted to hold Isaac right away and he still loves holding him.   Our family of 5!  Don't you love how Mckenzie brought her own baby? We did a 24 hour stay at the hospital and so we made it home around 8 or 9pm on Tuesday the 16th.  I love being able to order food whenever I want and being able to just focus on Isaac while at the hospital.  But there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed.  And boy was I tired!  Welcome home Isaac! Isaac, 3 days old.  Mckenzie loves holding Isaac.  But you really gotta watch her!  When she's done holding him she'll just shove him off her lap.   Three Hamilton boys! And let the ...
