Jett's New Chew Toy

Last week I was having some bad moments with the kids.  You know how it goes.  Some days I feel like I put out fire after fire.  On one particular day it felt like Isaac's job was to pull everything out of the cabinets, climb everything in sight, and hit Mckenzie.  At one point in the day I was feeling over overwhelmed and honestly just plain pissed off.  While muttering negative things under my breath and picking something off the floor I turned around to find Isaac sitting in Jett's water bowl.  Just sitting contently in a bowl of water.  I had to changed his pants and diaper.  Oh, and Isaac was so proud and happy to be sitting in water.  I love you so much Isaac! Please stop making me crazy! Mckenzie asks me at least once a day to take a picture of her and Jett.  Jett looks like he's saying, "Yup, she's sitting on me again."  Channing = most adorable kindergartener.  Went to parent teacher conferences last week...

Enjoying Some Last Days of Warmth

Isaac had his 4 month appointment on Sept 21st.  He was a whopping 20lbs 10oz and 27 3/4 inches long.  Some how he's bigger than Channing was.  I didn't think it was possible to have a 4 month old bigger than Channing but Isaac is an over achiever. Justin and I have been attempting to go out on more dates during the month.  We've been trying for two nights out a month.  Which may not seem like much to most couples but this is way more than what we normally do.  The best is when Grandma Joan and Grandpa Mark come to babysit the kids.  The kids are in heaven!  For our last date Justin and I went shopping at Costco (but forgot a cooler so we didn't get too much) and then had dinner at The Habit.  Yummy burgers and shakes!  Mmm...I'm hungry just thinking about it.  As usual Isaac was along for the ride.  One day we'll be able to go on a date totally kid free. But it's also nice to have some one on one time with Isaac.  As ...

Grouchy

On Monday, July 31st, I took Channing, Mckenzie, and Isaac to a physical therapy appointment to help Isaac with his tongue tie.  When Isaac was born the lactation consultant checked Isaac for tongue tie.  He was significantly tongue tied and the pediatrician clipped his frenulum when he was a day old.  Mckenzie was tongue tied as well but we didn't catch it till she was having problems nursing at 6 weeks old.  I was happy that we fixed Isaac's problem before he had problems nursing.  Unfortunately he started making a clicking noise while nursing when he was about 4 weeks old.  Since his tongue was already clipped I tried to be patient and assumed the problem would fix itself over time.  At his 2 month appointment Isaac was still clicking while nursing and he was swallowing a lot of air which makes him uncomfortable and grouchy.  The pediatrician thought his tongue could be clipped a little more, so he did.  I was patient (or sometimes not so ...

Lastest and Greatest

It's been a little over 3 weeks since Mckenzie's surgery.  Over this last weekend we have seen some really good improvement.  For example, she usually doesn't poop every hour anymore, maybe more an average of every two hours.  Although Justin changed two poopy diapers during sacrament meeting today.  Thank you Justin!  She's still had a big improvement from just a week ago when I'd change 5 poopy diapers before 9am.  And her diaper rash is much better.  We haven't had to give her around the clock pain medicine for probably a week now.  The new struggle has been her dilations. Her dilations consist of Justin holding her down, spreading her legs open, and me sticking a metal rod about two inches into her rectum, twice a day.  Sounds fun right?  Well of course she hates it and knows when it's coming and screams her head off every time.  It just makes me feel so sad seeing how much she freaks out when she knows it's time for her dilati...

Ooooh crap

Merry Christmas! It's December 12th and beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!  The tree is decorated and we are slowly adding presents underneath it.  What's new with the Hamilton crew? Well let me tell ya.  Justin is starting a new job as St Alphonsus's webmaster next Monday.  Which means I can kiss my daytime freedom goodbye.  Since February Justin has been working at home with a start up company called RealResultsOnline.  So if I had both kids down for a nap I could easily leave the house to go grocery shopping or whatever.  Now I'm heading back to the reality of being a stay at home mom.  Anyways...I'm sure I'll survive.  Because what choice do I have?!  We'll miss you Justin....  Especially Channing.  That kid loves peeking in on Justin during the day and getting in lots of daddy play time.  But we think this new job will give us better opportunities for the future.  So yes, I gotta suck it up!...
