Pain in the Neck Child

I have one child that's a pain in the neck because she has a pain in her neck!  Did you follow that?  Actually Mckenzie is adorable and an excellent baby, but the poor kid has torticollis.  Here's what google says about torticollis,  a condition in which the head becomes persistently turned to one side, often associated with painful muscle spasms.   Mckenzie only wants to look forward and to the right.  This has caused the right side of her head to become flat. Last Thursday I took her to the physical therapist that specializes in this problem and received lots of good stretches that I need to do with Mckenzie 2-3 times a day.  She also wants Mckenzie to have tummy time about 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time.  The only time I can do these stretches successfully with Mckenzie is when she is falling asleep for a nap.  And it takes about 10-15 minutes to complete the stretches each time.  We're hopeful that w...

We're cheating on Costco

We hang out in the back yard a lot.  Yay summer! I love it when Channing plays nicely and just does his own thing.   This morning after breakfast Channing took a fall.  I was doing dishes and he was walking into the living room so I didn't see him slip and hit his face on the coffee table.  But it looks like he smacked his eye/cheek on the corner of the table.  Owiee!  Breaks my heart.  I'm just glad it wasn't worse.  It looks more red and purple in person. Ouch!  While our Thai Chicken Pizza was cooking on the grill Channing and I sat down to watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.   And in other great news, we got a Sam's Club membership.  Pretty sure we'll end up spending more money on food now.  But it's only just down the street and it's fun to walk around.  And the membership was cheap!  Our closest Costco is about an hour drive away.  So we gave in.  I have very high expectatio...

Just keep running...just keep running....

We seem to be staying busy lately.  I've started going to a stroller boot camp every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.  And let me tell ya, those other moms are crazy.  They're all basically in awesome shape and could probably run a marathon tomorrow if they wanted.  So as you can probably guess, I'm usually in the back of the group especially when it comes to running.  I've never been good at endurance running and this class pushes that a lot.  For example...on Wednesday the class was held at the Greenbelt.  I arrived a few minutes late and when I got there they were all starting to jog.  Which is a normal thing for the beginning of most of our classes.  I heard someone say that we were jogging to a park.  I started out great and kept up with everyone but after about a mile we started to separate a little bit.  Most were in front of me and a few people were behind me.  This jog/walk went on for forever! ...
