Channing Turns 6

I think turning 6 means that your kid is officially growing up.  Channing looks so tall and grown up these days.  I love watching home videos of Channing from when he was a baby or toddler.  He loves watching them too and then trying to reenact them. Pancakes with sprinkles and whipped cream for his birthday breakfast. What I love about Channing is that he's a really good kid.  He wants to make good choices and help out.  He often surprises me by doing nice things.  For instance the other day I told Channing and Mckenzie to go brush their teeth.  And Mckenzie was so happy to find that Channing had put her toothpaste on for her.  How sweet!  Side note the next time he did that he purposely put on the "spicy" toothpaste on Mckenzie's toothbrush which she did not like. The kindness comes and goes.... :) Channing wanted a robot cake for his birthday. Channing and Emma played some minute to win it games. He loves to scare peop...

Happy 1 Month Old!

Mckenzie is 1 month old tomorrow.  I just watched a video I took of her at 1 week old and she has already changed so much! She's definitely chubbier and longer.  She moved on from newborn into 0-3 month clothes. I absolutely love how sweet Channing is with Mckenzie.  He does the funniest things with her.  The other day I caught him lifting up his shirt and making her touch his tummy and then laughing saying she was tickling him.  Also if she's getting fussy in her swing and I'm busy I can tell Channing to go hold her hand and he'll walk over to her and talk to her while he holds her hand.  I'm just loving all this sibling love!  Gotta soak it in before they start fighting with each other! Tummy time Today was my first day back to church.  You sure spend a lot of time in the mother's lounge when you have a newborn. Hanging out in the mother's room. Things are pretty much the same around here.  My only news is getti...

Statler or Waldorf?

Lately I've been finding myself become more opinionated about some things. The other day I couldn't find any music on the radio that interested me while driving home from work. So I turned it to a station that usually plays classical music - but it currently had public radio (NPR) on. I quickly realized what things they were talking about & engaged in the conversation myself (or rather by myself). Yelling at NPR like an opinionated old man. Oof. How is it going to be when I'm actually old? Mommy, please don't make us go over to Grandpa's. He is always yelling at the radio & tv. Half the time they aren't even turned on! Well if things continue, that will likely be the voice of my grandchildren! Guess the only question that remains, will I become Statler or Waldorf? However, for most things, I'm still very open and mild-tempered. I try not to become too wrapped up in particulars. I'd rather just go with the flow. Maybe my tolerance for stupi...
