February Survival Mode

You'll notice that I do no have many pictures to document the month of February.  That is because I was about 10 weeks pregnant and very much just trying to get through the day.  My mom came to visit the end of January and we also got to celebrate her birthday (Feb 5th).  She helped with dinner, kids, and cleaning.  And we can't forget her infamous last day when Jett consumed a lot of dark chocolate and I had to take him to the vet.  More of that below.   This was after one of my OB appts.  I went to Jamba Juice because being nauseous all day long sucks and smoothies at least taste good.  You know, treat yo self! If you look closely you can see Jett's head popping out of the blanket.  This was the bed that Mckenzie made for him after he came home from spending the night at the animal hospital.  Isaac accidentally shared dark chocolate with Jett (a lot of it).  I took Jett to the vet while my mom took Lyft to the air...

For When I Forget

We've had lots of fun the last few months and I want to make sure to document them.  And I'll try not to be too bitter as the weather is cooling off.   Dinner at Grimaldi's and then watching the fountain. Mckenzie and Emily's first swim lessons.   Channing had swim lessons too.  It was a busy two weeks.   This is what happens most days days after Justin gets home. Can't forget Jett! Mckenzie is such a chatterbox these days.  Each sentence either begins or ends with "mom".  I guess she wants to make sure I'm listening.  Her current passions are coloring, looking a her princess recipe book, and playing with the keyboard in her room.  I let her have the keyboard in her room and she wanted some really piano music to look at to do her "music lesson".  She even put some fake flowers by the keyboard.  I am sooo happy that preschool has been going well for her.  I was nervous about her bathro...

April Happenings

2019 is in full swing! Spring has sprung!  Let's be honest, I'm a warm weather person.  And this warmer weather is making me very happy.   Mckenzie had another eye doctor appointment.  This time at Artisan Optics.  Her Dr was great.  Very fun and good with kids.  She diagnosed Mckenzie as having esotropia of her right eye and being farsighted.  Mckenzie's eyes have to work really hard to see things close up.  Her left eye is stronger than her right eye which is why I was noticing her turning her head to focus on things.   Mckenzie did really good at the eye doctor.  It helps that they used princess stickers as a reward for doing different tests.  She hated when they put the eye drops in to dilated her eyes.  Luckily she did great the rest of the day despite having dilated eyes. The eye doctor said that vision therapy wouldn't help her eyes.  Instead having a strong prescription would help her ri...

The Vacuum

We've had Jett for 1 whole year.  What in the world were we thinking getting a 12 week old puppy?  And it wasn't even Justin's idea!  I had been thinking about getting a dog for months.  I would tell Justin, "please remind me why it's a terrible idea to get a puppy."  And then we would discuss all the negatives to getting a dog.  And then the next day I would go back to thinking about it!  I could NOT get it out of my head.  Weird. Click HERE for a post shortly after getting Jett. I would peruse craigslist looking at all sorts of listings for dogs.  I knew I wanted a dog that didn't shed.  One night I found a listing for a springerdoodle puppy.  It was a slightly blurry picture of a very black, fluffy puppy.  I was mainly interested because it was a few hundred dollars less than other "doodle" breeds.  I started texting the breeder and set up a time to just come look at the puppy.  That was a joke.  Ain't no...
