April Happenings

2019 is in full swing! Spring has sprung!  Let's be honest, I'm a warm weather person.  And this warmer weather is making me very happy.

Mckenzie had another eye doctor appointment.  This time at Artisan Optics.  Her Dr was great.  Very fun and good with kids.  She diagnosed Mckenzie as having esotropia of her right eye and being farsighted.  Mckenzie's eyes have to work really hard to see things close up.  Her left eye is stronger than her right eye which is why I was noticing her turning her head to focus on things.

Mckenzie did really good at the eye doctor.  It helps that they used princess stickers as a reward for doing different tests.  She hated when they put the eye drops in to dilated her eyes.  Luckily she did great the rest of the day despite having dilated eyes.
The eye doctor said that vision therapy wouldn't help her eyes.  Instead having a strong prescription would help her right eye to see better which would eliminate the head turning and the right eye turning in. She's been wearing her glasses for a whole week and she's liking it.  What a relief!

Jett is Mckenzie's sleeping buddy.

This picture makes me laugh.  That's an interesting way to hold your frisbee Jett...
Happy Easter!  This Easter sure snuck up on me.  Which is strange since it's at the end of April!  Two days before Easter Justin got down the Easter bin.  The day before Easter I took the kids to two neighborhood Easter egg hunts.  They got so much candy!  They loved being outside and hunting for eggs.  And I got a good workout in while pushing the double stroller and running after Isaac.

While the kids and I bounced from one egg hunt to the next Justin was back at home stump grinding.  We have so many stumps in our yard.  He got through about half of the stumps in one day.

This is debris leftover from one huge stump.

Easter Sunday was great.  Justin made bunny pancakes (snake pancake for Channing), we did another egg hunt in the house, and the kids loved their Easter baskets.  Church was awesome and I loved the Spirit we felt there.  Grateful to have healthy and happy children and husband.

For Easter dinner we went to the Wegner/Hamilton house.  We ate yummy food, had an egg hunt, and let the cousins play.

Wait there's more!  You know how I love to combine everything into one blog post....  Here's some more April moments.

Isaac...crazy and adorable.
For a few weeks the amount of potty accidents Mckenzie has been having increased.  She still struggles due to her laxative but she was getting even worse.  Mainly I think she needed motivation to not just pee and poop in her underwear.  Which meant we needed another potty chart.  Although it's more work for me I knew she needed an incentive.  After filling out the whole potty chart with stickers we rewarded her with Reed's Dairy Ice Cream.

Here are some pictures I love from this month.

Warm weather!
Sorry Isaac, we really need to buy you a helmet.

Ryan was in Aladdin.  It was super cute and Channing enjoyed coming to see his cousin.

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin!  I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for.  Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it?  Yes, I am lucky.  Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn.  Mmmmm.  I love the new things Channing learns everyday.  The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try.   Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic.  It was fun.  But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day.  Oh well.  At least half the day was awesome!  Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere.  And sitting in it....

Merry Christmas

It was a white Christmas here in Meridian, Idaho.  On Christmas Eve we went to church for an hour and then came home and let Channing and Mckenzie each open one present.  We made peanut butter blossoms for Santa's cookies.  And we wrote letter's to Santa.  We also watched mormon messages about the birth of Christ.  For a few weeks the kids were earning pieces of straw to put in Jesus's manger.  Each good act or deed equaled a piece of straw placed in the manger.  Then on Christmas Eve we placed Jesus in the manger and talked about how all our acts of kindness created a nice, soft bed for baby Jesus to lay in.  It was a great visual for them.  (I got this idea from my Relief Society last year.) Making cookies. Mckenzie opened a book from the Crawford's.   Channing got a fort building kit from the Crawford's. Letter's the Santa.   These cute kids. Who knew Mckenzie wanted a puppy.... ...

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!
