"I love you more than Jesus loves you."

Summer is officially here!  Things haven't changed much in the past few weeks.  Except that Isaac is growing so quick!  I swear he's twice the size he was a month ago.  Tomorrow he'll be 6 weeks old.  Channing and Mckenzie still love holding him and giving him kisses.  I hope I don't jinx it by saying this...but Isaac has slept from about 10pm to 3am, then about 4am to 7am every night this past week.  Thank you Isaac!!
This is Isaac as I write this blog post.

I'll start off by first telling you what the title of this blog post is all about.  This is a quote by Channing.  For about a month now he randomly tells me "Mom, I love you more than Jesus loves you."  I think it's so cute and funny!  I don't know where he learned that from.  We have told him many times that Jesus and Heavenly Father love him very much.  So I guess he's used this knowledge to express how much he loves me.  So precious.

Random note.  I can barely lift Channing.  He is just solid.  In the past I would only lift up Channing if he was being super naughty and I would carry him to his room for a time out.  But I think if I did that now I'd break my back!  Anyways...I can still lift him, but the day is fast approaching that I won't be able to.  He's not a fat kid, just super solid and tall.  And that reminds me, he's been doing so much better with eating these days.  In the past we've sent him to bed with only a cup of milk for dinner because he refuses to eat what I've made.  But now, after lots of persistence, he will usually eat most things on his plate.  Unless it's pasta, vegetables, or eggs, then we have to force him to try one bite.  Progress people, progress!

Little sweet Miss Mckenzie May has certainly stressed me out this past week.  Ever since her PSARP surgery we've had a hard time regulating her bowel movements.  Usually she's pooping way too much and her bum gets raw and red.  For the past month I've been able to take her off laxatives (which ensure that she never has to strain when pooping) and monitor her diet.  We don't buy bananas anymore, she eats very little bread, and I make sure she consistently eats fruits and things with lots of fiber. We'd been doing pretty good, meaning she was only pooping maybe 5 times a day.  But this past week she reverted back to pooping every hour or more.  Her bum got so red and sore.  She'd scream and yell "stop it!" or "make it feel better!" during every diaper change.  It felt like we were back to the weeks following her surgery.  And on top of this I now have a new baby to take care of.  On Friday I called St Luke's Ped Surgery and begged for some kind of solution.  We've ordered a barrier cream called Ilex, which costs a small fortune, but is suppose to work wonders on diaper rashes.  And Mckenzie is getting a referral for a nutritionist.  Let's hope we don't ever have another bad week again!!  I'm so sick of hearing her scream for every diaper change.  The poor girl has been through enough.
"I'm a daddy" she said.

Mckenzie has always been really good at talking.  Her vocabulary is amazing for her age.  Lately she's been cracking me up by always using the words "so so" in front of everything.  "I'm so so dirty."  "I'm so so scared."  "I'm so so pretty."  "Isaac is so so cute."

Mckenzie will be 2 years old in a few weeks!

This summer I don't expect us to do too many exciting things, thanks Isaac. ;)  But we have thought of an easy bucket list for the summer.  Here's what we have so far:  Boise Aquarium (check! we went yesterday), Roaring Springs, Channing and daddy go on bike rides, Channing and daddy camping trip, Zoo (see butterfly exhibit), the fair, and go to a farmers market.
Channing, Mckenzie, and Justin playing outside this Sunday morning.

For anyone whose never been pregnant and plans to be, spoiler alert, being pregnant makes you fat!  Maybe not for kid #1 or even kid #2.  But oh boy kid #3 has done me in.  I got like 20lbs to lose. This week we've started to eat much more healthy and I've exercised almost everyday.  My goal: get back to 155lbs.  It'll be a task!  But these kids are worth it! :)

  1. I am always happily surprised when I see another new blog... I love the stories and pictures so much!! So hoping and praying Kenzie will heal completely and have just a few poops a day... maybe the next 3 months will get better, then it will be 6 months since her surgery... Yes, I couldn't pick up Channing when I was there... he is so solid! Glad to hear he is eating more variety of foods. And love both of their little sayings....

I know you will loose the weight, just don't have me around to buy ice cream!!
Hope you can add a trip to Malibu to your bucket list!
So glad Isaac is sleeping good at night!!!

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin!  I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for.  Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it?  Yes, I am lucky.  Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn.  Mmmmm.  I love the new things Channing learns everyday.  The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try.   Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic.  It was fun.  But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day.  Oh well.  At least half the day was awesome!  Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere.  And sitting in it....

Merry Christmas

It was a white Christmas here in Meridian, Idaho.  On Christmas Eve we went to church for an hour and then came home and let Channing and Mckenzie each open one present.  We made peanut butter blossoms for Santa's cookies.  And we wrote letter's to Santa.  We also watched mormon messages about the birth of Christ.  For a few weeks the kids were earning pieces of straw to put in Jesus's manger.  Each good act or deed equaled a piece of straw placed in the manger.  Then on Christmas Eve we placed Jesus in the manger and talked about how all our acts of kindness created a nice, soft bed for baby Jesus to lay in.  It was a great visual for them.  (I got this idea from my Relief Society last year.) Making cookies. Mckenzie opened a book from the Crawford's.   Channing got a fort building kit from the Crawford's. Letter's the Santa.   These cute kids. Who knew Mckenzie wanted a puppy.... ...

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!
