August...and the end of Summer

Oh August...I love Summer.  The only thing I don't like about August is that it leads to September, which leads to it getting colder and colder.  Oh well, life goes on.  This summer was really fun because I wasn't pregnant or didn't just barely have a baby.  We've gone on lots of family bike rides, playing outside, walks to the park, a family reunion in Park City, and playing in sprinklers.  Channing finally earned enough money to qualify him to get a power wheels four-wheeler.  He loves that thing.  I'm pretty sure he's driven it everyday since we got it for him.  I'm super proud of him too because he actually worked hard to earn that four-wheeler.  He would ask to do a chore, which in reality means more work for me, and then he'd either sweep, mop, clean windows, vacuum the car, or whatever I needed done that day.  We'd go to Walmart to grocery shop and he'd see a cool toy and ask if he could have it.  And I would tell him that he...

Kenney Family Reunion

From August 7th to the 14th we went to Peoa, UT for a family reunion.  Peoa is 15 minutes away from Park City.  We all stayed in a huge house that was surrounded by 40 acres of land (and a random chicken coop, a dead calf, and an abandoned sports car).  Everyday we did fun activities like boating, shooting, or four-wheeling.  We also ate really good food and watched the Olympics.     We also played minute to win it games and the "Crawford's game".   Here's some activities I remember us all doing: Monday: Hamilton's made pancakes, boating, got really windy at the Lake, ATV rides Tuesday: Ziplining, outlet shopping, shooting Wednesday: Olympic park, rained, free-style ski jumps into pool, Ryan did ropes course and zip line at the kids discovery zone, Channing rode the chair lift and went on a hike with Justin Thursday: Ikea, In-n-out, Alpine slide with Channing, clog in sewer line cause an over flow of poop, got on floors...yuck. 1st Birthday and a Family Visit

We celebrated Mckenzie's 1st birthday with balloons, cake, presents, and family.  We love this girl so much.  She is silly and determined.  She lets you know what she wants and has the best evil laugh (thanks to Justin who taught her).  She's super smart too.  She tries to repeat sounds all the time.  Mckenzie can say "doggy," "mama," and "dada."  And we swear that she's said "bye bye" before.  We are incredibly blessed to have this cute, smart, sweet girl as our daughter.   Cortney and Patrick came to visit!  I think Channing and Patrick are bosom friends, kindred spirits if you will.  They are two blond cuties.  We went to the aquarium.  We fed ducks and played at the park.  Justin took them fishing.  We had a campfire and roasted s'mores.  It was great.  The day after Patrick left Channing said, "I miss Patrick.  He's a good guy."  And then proceeded to tell me everything they di...

Memorial Day Weekend Trip to AZ

I've got some blogging to catch up on.  My hope is that one day I'll be able to look back on this blog and remember the great and sometimes not so great moments of my life.    Recently we had an awesome trip to AZ!  Over Memorial Day weekend my sister Julia and I took our babies (Emily and Mckenzie) to Arizona.  We met up with my mom and dad.  We had lots of fun eating In-n-out Burger, hanging out with the Millers, getting to meet my cousin Kaylynn's two boys, and spending time up in Pine with Nora, Wayne, Grandma, and Grandpa.  Before heading up to Pine we got to see where my Grandparents live.  They moved over a year ago from Hawaii to Gilbert, Arizona.  They live in this cute, well-kept retirement community.  They have a great house and friends nearby.      I love my Clemmer Grandparents.  I feel very lucky that I was able to grown up so close to them.  I would regularly ride my bike or take a ...

Happy Mother's Day

I am one lucky lady.  I don't mean to toot my own horn but I've got one awesome husband and two great kids.  The Saturday before mother's day the fam all went to Kneader's.  It was delicious!  And it happen to be buy one get one free all you can eat french toast.  Happy Day! The next day (Mother's Day) Justin made me crepes for breakfast.  Can you tell I like breakfast?  And he bought Nutella to go on the crepes.  Ummm....amazing!  The day before Mother's Day Justin and Channing went shopping for Mother's Day stuff.  When they got back I was sure that I could convince Channing to tell me where they went.  But he would not crack!!  Justin taught him to say "I'm not telling you anything!" when I asked about where they went.  He wouldn't budge at all!  On Mother's Day I came down stairs to a plethora of goodies!  See picture below.   Best guy right here ----> In other news, ...

Fartlek

Have you ever tried running (more like slow jogging) with a double stroller?  My suggestion is to avoid it...unless you're into pain and frustration. I'm a morning workout person.  And I'm not talking about waking up before my kids at 6am and getting in a workout--I'm not crazy.  I'm into doing my workout when it's convenient and I don't have to sacrifice too much.  For example I don't like to exercise when I:  Have to wake up earlier than normal.  Stay up later than normal. Be too cold/hot for a long period of time. Or listen to a kid cry/whine the whole time.     Right now I've chosen to walk/jog in the morning after breakfast and before Mckenzie's nap.  That way the morning goes by quickly and I get a workout in.  Justin and I signed up for a race here in Meridian and that's my workout motivation...hence the jogging with a stroller.  I'm pretty sure the double stroller ways at least 75lbs with the kids in it....
