Ooooh crap

Merry Christmas! It's December 12th and beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!  The tree is decorated and we are slowly adding presents underneath it.  What's new with the Hamilton crew? Well let me tell ya.  Justin is starting a new job as St Alphonsus's webmaster next Monday.  Which means I can kiss my daytime freedom goodbye.  Since February Justin has been working at home with a start up company called RealResultsOnline.  So if I had both kids down for a nap I could easily leave the house to go grocery shopping or whatever.  Now I'm heading back to the reality of being a stay at home mom.  Anyways...I'm sure I'll survive.  Because what choice do I have?!  We'll miss you Justin....  Especially Channing.  That kid loves peeking in on Justin during the day and getting in lots of daddy play time.  But we think this new job will give us better opportunities for the future.  So yes, I gotta suck it up!...

Fall in Meridian, ID

Happy Fall!  It's getting chillier everyday.  Here's a bit of an update in our lives.  Channing is 2 years and 7 months old.  Just a little stud muffin.  He loves putting his hands in his pockets. On Oct 15th Channing woke up from his nap and declared he didn't need his binky anymore.  We put it in a baggy and left it on the front porch for the trash man to come get it.   He's been doing good at night but naps are hard.   Fun time at Farmstead! Mckenzie and Cici. It was a fun day of picking pumpkins, sitting in tractors, jumping on the bouncy pillow, and playing in the corn "beach". Practicing his trials riding. Just so you know...he still refuses to eat most food.  But he will eat sweet potato fries! Mckenzie's neck is doing much better.  After 3 weeks of physical therapy she is looking to the left more and more!  Here she's even looking to the left while in tummy time.  Good job M...

Pain in the Neck Child

I have one child that's a pain in the neck because she has a pain in her neck!  Did you follow that?  Actually Mckenzie is adorable and an excellent baby, but the poor kid has torticollis.  Here's what google says about torticollis,  a condition in which the head becomes persistently turned to one side, often associated with painful muscle spasms.   Mckenzie only wants to look forward and to the right.  This has caused the right side of her head to become flat. Last Thursday I took her to the physical therapist that specializes in this problem and received lots of good stretches that I need to do with Mckenzie 2-3 times a day.  She also wants Mckenzie to have tummy time about 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time.  The only time I can do these stretches successfully with Mckenzie is when she is falling asleep for a nap.  And it takes about 10-15 minutes to complete the stretches each time.  We're hopeful that w...

Blessing Weekend

This past Sunday Mckenzie had her baby blessing.  It was a great weekend because the Hamilton's and my mom came to visit.  On Saturday we went to an activity called Touch a Truck.  Is was next to the BSU stadium and the parking lot was filled with all sorts of trucks.  The kids got to sit in the trucks, honk horns, and got lots of free things like stickers and fireman hats.  The kids loved it!  Then we all went to Chick fil-a for lunch! Yum! Sunday was the blessing day.  Mckenzie looked adorable in her white dress.  I even made her a headband to match and perfectly fit her (large) head. ;)  Things I remember from Justin's blessing was that Mckenzie would serve a full-time mission, get married in the temple, have a family, and always have a sweet spirit.  After church that day we had everyone over for a yummy brat dinner with pasta salad, spinach salad, and brownie sundays for dessert.   Blessing dress ...

What's happening with us Hamilton's....

It's been almost a whole month since my last blog post.  Fall weather is in the air.  The past few days have been a lot cooler.  Which is a nice change from the hot days, but I'm still not ready for Fall to be here! It feels like Summer has come and gone too quickly.  But I'm sure we'll still have some warmer days this month.  And I'm happy we're living in Meridian, where it doesn't get too cold in the Winter. Mckenzie is almost 2 months old.  She's started smiling and cooing a lot.  She is a great baby. Happy and healthy.  Although she does like to test our patience at night.  She is quite a grunter.  When she's waking up or falling asleep she wiggles and grunts.  Today I moved her pack n play into her bedroom.  We're going to try out having her sleep in her own room tonight.  We'll she how that goes....  I'll probably be up every hour just to check on her! Channing is still an awesome big brother.  Today Mck...

Happy 1 Month Old!

Mckenzie is 1 month old tomorrow.  I just watched a video I took of her at 1 week old and she has already changed so much! She's definitely chubbier and longer.  She moved on from newborn into 0-3 month clothes. I absolutely love how sweet Channing is with Mckenzie.  He does the funniest things with her.  The other day I caught him lifting up his shirt and making her touch his tummy and then laughing saying she was tickling him.  Also if she's getting fussy in her swing and I'm busy I can tell Channing to go hold her hand and he'll walk over to her and talk to her while he holds her hand.  I'm just loving all this sibling love!  Gotta soak it in before they start fighting with each other! Tummy time Today was my first day back to church.  You sure spend a lot of time in the mother's lounge when you have a newborn. Hanging out in the mother's room. Things are pretty much the same around here.  My only news is getti...

Newborn stage

During this newborn stage things are busy and you're usually tired, which for me means that it's difficult to remember the details of the day.  So I've started taking pictures of the little things I don't want to forget. A fews days ago Mckenzie spit up all over herself, myself, and the carpet (which has become a usual thing for her).  While I was rinsing out clothes Channing was being a good big brother and showing Mckenzie his bouncy balls.  And then he wanted to lay on the floor just like her.  "I'm laying like Kenzie!" he said.  Every mom can relate to this...waiting for your baby to stop pooping.  Mckenzie looks very innocent as her bottom makes unladylike noises.  Man babies go through a lot of diapers!  I call this one the progression of sleep.  When Channing was this age I thought it was really weird that his face would go from sad to happy so quickly.  But now with Mckenzie I just imagine what she's dreaming a...
