Some things that we've yelled at Channing this week:

"Channing, take the leash off your sister!"

"Stop making your sister fetch the ball!"

Channing still loves his puppy Jett but sometimes it's easier to make your sister do things.

This past weekend I had a great time celebrating my 27th birthday. I was completely spoiled by Justin who made me breakfast. Then Julia watched the kids while I went to workout. In the evening Grandma Joan watched the kids while Justin and I went to a dinner and a movie. We literally ate dinner while sitting at the movie theater. You order food before the show and they bring it to your seat. That was new! Saturday was puppy training class and then Cheesecake Factory. Now it's Sunday and Justin cooked me delicious enchiladas for dinner.

27! The kids got me a birthday pin. I wore it with pride! :)

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a quick Halloween post so I won't ever forget how adorable Channing was. He was a scarecrow this Halloween. We used a pair of his overalls and I sewed on a few patches of material and then we stuffed his pockets with straw. The paint on the nose thing didn't work so well...he rubbed it off the first time around. Our ward did a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot. Channing was a little skeptical about it all when we first started. But he quickly got the hang of walking up to people, grabbing candy, and putting it in his bucket. Someone gave him a sucker and he immediately had to have it! At least he's easy to please! Such a friendly scarecrow...had to say bye to the trick-or-treaters as they left.

My reality check

Remember how in my last few posts I talked about how we were teaching Channing to put himself back to sleep by letting him cry it out? Since Channing has been sick for over a week that has all gone down the drain.... The poor kid is so congested all the time. When we wakes up at night he usually will not take his binky and fall back asleep. Instead he needs his nose suctioned, which usually requires Justin holding Channing's head still or it's impossible. And lately he will not go back to sleep at all until he's fed again. Last night it was every 3 hours. I don't know if it's because his throat hurts or he just wants to be held. Whatever the reason, nights have been a little rough around here. Oh, and his naps during the day have been pretty bad. Crying a lot before falling asleep and then only sleeping for 20 or 30 minutes. Motherhood is definitely a 24/7 job. With no lunch breaks. And get this! Channin...

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin! I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for. Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it? Yes, I am lucky. Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn. Mmmmm. I love the new things Channing learns everyday. The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try. Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic. It was fun. But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day. Oh well. At least half the day was awesome! Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere. And sitting in it....
