New Job

This week I started my new job as a labor and delivery nurse.  It was three days straight of 12 hour shifts.  I was so nervous but in the end I think things went well.  I enjoy being there and working.  I think my favorite part is feeling like I'm helping out these moms.  I've got another 5 weeks of orientation and a lot to learn!     The hardest part about this week was missing Channing.  Since my shift goes from 7am to 7pm Channing is often in bed already before I get home.  Which means I go a long time with out seeing him.  I think things are going well with his babysitter.  We've been told he's taken good naps and plays well.  So I really hope he's happy!  My main goal about taking this job is making sure Channing is happy and comfortable at the babysitters house.     There were a few evenings that Justin kept Channing awake until I made it home.  Channing was so cu...

Feel the music

I thought I'd write a blog post while I've got a minute.  Channing is currently waking up from a nap and Justin doesn't get home from work for another 30 minutes.  I've got pizza dough rising and no good shows to watch on hulu, so I guess it's bloggin time! I accepted a PRN night shift RN job at Mountain View Hospital in Labor and Delivery.  Earlier today I had to get a babysitter for Channing so I could fill out paper work, get a drug test, and a TB test.  Channing would not let go of me when it was time for me to leave him with the babysitter.  He cried and cried.  Sometimes he's much more grumpy when I have to leave him, but most of the time he's okay.  Just breaks my heart. But luckily I spend most of my time at home so he gets lots of mommy time.  Here's picture from earlier this week when he jumped on my back and started pulling my ponytail.  I think he thought he was riding a horse.... Now I would like to talk about Zumba....

We're cheating on Costco

We hang out in the back yard a lot.  Yay summer! I love it when Channing plays nicely and just does his own thing.   This morning after breakfast Channing took a fall.  I was doing dishes and he was walking into the living room so I didn't see him slip and hit his face on the coffee table.  But it looks like he smacked his eye/cheek on the corner of the table.  Owiee!  Breaks my heart.  I'm just glad it wasn't worse.  It looks more red and purple in person. Ouch!  While our Thai Chicken Pizza was cooking on the grill Channing and I sat down to watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.   And in other great news, we got a Sam's Club membership.  Pretty sure we'll end up spending more money on food now.  But it's only just down the street and it's fun to walk around.  And the membership was cheap!  Our closest Costco is about an hour drive away.  So we gave in.  I have very high expectatio...
