Blocks

Channing's playtime goes through phases.  A few days ago he was completely into cars and trucks.  Justin had just bought him some hot wheels cars and Channing thought they were amazing.  He makes you play with him of course.  If I try and walk away he'll run after you with your car and shove it in your hand.           Lately Channing has been all about the blocks.  He's pretty good at stacking them.  The first 5 times that they fall down he just laughs.  Then after a while he started getting frustrated.  Usually it ends up with me helping stack the blocks.  After each block he'll say "ta da!"  He's got the best smile.          And Channing really needs a hair cut!

Climbing

The other day we went to use the pool at our gym.  I wanted to swim in the outdoor pool.  But we couldn't get Channing's rash guard on over his head and he was getting really fussy. We decided to go and use the indoor pool.  As soon as Channing saw the pool he kept saying "wa wa" and turned into a wiggle monster in Justin's arms.  We got in the water (which was super warm like bath water) and Channing got a little nervous.  He holds on really tight at first whenever we've taken him in a pool.  He warmed up a little to it.  But still wasn't very excited.  I think we need to get him some type of floaty he can sit in.  I've looked at two different Walmarts about a million times (more like two or three times) and they are always out of floaties! We only spent about 10 minutes in the pool before he wanted to get out.  He walked around and found a door to the outdoor pool.  The outdoor pool felt much better because it wasn't ove...

Commercial Debut

In case you didn't know, Justin and I are pretty much famous.  Okay, I'm kidding.  But we are going to be in a sushi commercial!  On Monday, after I went to quit my job, Justin called and asked if we could meet up at a new sushi place called Ninja Sushi for lunch.  We had a babysitter at home with Channing so it was a fun lunch date.  This sushi place just barely opened down the street from where we live in Idaho Falls.  Justin and I both really like sushi.  When we got to the sushi place we saw there was a camera guy and one other guy directing it.  Turns out they're from Local News 8. After we ordered our food we sat down to wait for our rolls and teriyaki bowl to be made.  Then an employee came over and handed us utensils and said "try it!"  He was pointing to a plate of sushi behind us.  We thought, sure!  I don't turn down fresh free sushi.  Then we realized they were going to film us eating for the commercial....

I quit

Just a week ago I had a job interview for a part time RN position.  I had barely replied to the job posting when they called to set up the interview.  I had been looking for a part time job but not looking too seriously.  So I went into the interview thinking that I'd only take the job if everything checked out.  The interview went well.  They had offered me the job by the end of it.  And I had to tell them my answer the next day because orientation started the day after that.  I started to get stressed out about being gone from Channing and finding someone that I felt comfortable watching him.  Luckily there are two girls in our ward that were free to babysit until they left for college at the end of August.  But I still needed to find someone who could watch Channing after August.  Justin had started to call daycares to ask about prices and how things work at different daycares.  I told him to ask about nap times because I was cur...

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!
