Trip to California 2019

Our family took a trip to California from March 10th-17th.  We loved our time together in Malibu.  Butterflies everywhere since they were migrating north.  Channing getting better at swimming.  Mckenzie playing with old doll houses.  Isaac entertaining family with his charm.  Staying up late watching movies.  It was relaxing and fun.  Sunday-Flew into LAX. Went to the Ostler's for a yummy dinner.  The kids loved running around and playing with their second cousins.  Then we drove to Malibu.  Isaac and Mckenzie fell asleep on the drive but woke up with lots of energy when we go to the condo.  Isaac's first few nights were a bit rough in a new place but eventually he went to sleep without crying.  Mckenzie and Channing did great sharing a room.  Check out the homes that were destroyed in the fire last November. Monday- We took it easy in the morning. I ran up and down the hill by the condo about 3 times for som...

Channing Turns 6

I think turning 6 means that your kid is officially growing up.  Channing looks so tall and grown up these days.  I love watching home videos of Channing from when he was a baby or toddler.  He loves watching them too and then trying to reenact them. Pancakes with sprinkles and whipped cream for his birthday breakfast. What I love about Channing is that he's a really good kid.  He wants to make good choices and help out.  He often surprises me by doing nice things.  For instance the other day I told Channing and Mckenzie to go brush their teeth.  And Mckenzie was so happy to find that Channing had put her toothpaste on for her.  How sweet!  Side note the next time he did that he purposely put on the "spicy" toothpaste on Mckenzie's toothbrush which she did not like. The kindness comes and goes.... :) Channing wanted a robot cake for his birthday. Channing and Emma played some minute to win it games. He loves to scare peop...

The Vacuum

We've had Jett for 1 whole year.  What in the world were we thinking getting a 12 week old puppy?  And it wasn't even Justin's idea!  I had been thinking about getting a dog for months.  I would tell Justin, "please remind me why it's a terrible idea to get a puppy."  And then we would discuss all the negatives to getting a dog.  And then the next day I would go back to thinking about it!  I could NOT get it out of my head.  Weird. Click HERE for a post shortly after getting Jett. I would peruse craigslist looking at all sorts of listings for dogs.  I knew I wanted a dog that didn't shed.  One night I found a listing for a springerdoodle puppy.  It was a slightly blurry picture of a very black, fluffy puppy.  I was mainly interested because it was a few hundred dollars less than other "doodle" breeds.  I started texting the breeder and set up a time to just come look at the puppy.  That was a joke.  Ain't no...
