Things We've Yelled at Channing + 27th Birthday

Some things that we've yelled at Channing this week: "Channing, take the leash off your sister!" "Stop making your sister fetch the ball!" Channing still loves his puppy Jett but sometimes it's easier to make your sister do things. Best buddies. This past weekend I had a great time celebrating my 27th birthday.  I was completely spoiled by Justin who made me breakfast.  Then Julia watched the kids while I went to workout.  In the evening Grandma Joan watched the kids while Justin and I went to a dinner and a movie.  We literally ate dinner while sitting at the movie theater.  You order food before the show and they bring it to your seat.  That was new!  Saturday was puppy training class and then Cheesecake Factory.  Now it's Sunday and Justin cooked me delicious enchiladas for dinner.   27!  The kids got me a birthday pin.  I wore it with pride!  :) Saturday: Cheesecake Factory So...

Madness

In the last two weeks we've bought a dog, I traveled to Arizona with Isaac, and we celebrated Channing's 5th birthday.  And those are just the big events!  If I had to describe my life lately in one word it would be "madness."  I looked up the word "madness"just now and the first meaning is, "a state of being mentally ill, especially severely."  Some might think I'm mentally ill for wanting to buy a dog while having three kids ages 4 and under.  The next meaning is, "a state of frenzied or chaotic activity."  Spot on!  That's a great description of my days lately.  But I keep trying to remind myself that one day I will dearly miss these little voices chattering away all day.  And the routine we have going on right now. Why did we get a dog?  I guess 3 kids weren't keeping me busy enough.  Not!  In the last two months I kept thinking about getting a dog.  So what do I do?  I research and research.  I was looking...

Channing

Channing Parker Hamilton was born March 1st, 2013 in Rexburg, Idaho.  In a few weeks we will celebrate his 5th birthday.  I remember when he was 1 or 2 years old it seemed like an eternity till he'd be 5 years old and heading to kindergarten.  And here we are, almost 5 years old.  Channing: Perceptive. Sensitive. Easily embarrassed. Cries when he isn't allowed dessert. Loves to ask, "so what's your favorite part about today," when being put to bed. Annoys his sister like most brothers do.  But will offer her help if she needs it.  She usually screams at him when he's trying to help her and that sets him off.  He'll usually storm off saying, "I'm never going to be her friend!"  But then he's back playing with her 5 minutes later. Heart of gold. Good listener. Compliments me on Sunday's and say that I look pretty.  He's learned well from his dad. Wants to know the name of every dinosaur. Bites his cheek, lip, or finge...

California Week Overview

The family spent a week in California from January 14th to the 21st.  Our flight from Boise to LA wasn't till 8pm so we got into LA around 9:30pm local time, grabbed our luggage (two suitcases and three carseat boxes), took a shuttle to enterprise car rental, set up the carseats in our rental car, and then drove an hour to Malibu.  We all got to bed around 12:30 that night.  Being able to stay at Deedee and Papa's Malibu condo makes the trip amazing.  Mckenzie and Channing shared a room where Mckenzie tried out a "real" bed for the first time.  Although she still referred to it as her crib.  Then Isaac was in a pack n play in another room.  Justin and I had the master bedroom.  You can see the ocean and hear the waves from this room.  I love the sound of waves crashing. Day 1 in Malibu we took it easy in the morning.  The kids were so excited to be at the beach house.  Justin took Channing out exploring and ended up at the beach....
