Future hindsight

Something I wanted to blog about is the experience we are having with Mckenzie and her procedure and future surgery.  My hope in blogging about this is that one day I can look back and see that everything worked out just fine.  Right now things seem unknown and scary but we're trying to keep a positive attitude about it.  Luckily Mckenzie is a healthy girl and she's been growing and developing normally.  She's actually ahead of the curve on her vocabulary.  In the end I hope that this is just a trial that will come to an end in a few months and we'll look back and see how blessed we were. Here's Mckenzie's issue (caution, graphic language used):  When she was born we noticed that her vagina and anus were close together, like closer than normal.  The skin between her vagina and anus is very tight.  Her pediatrician (Dr. Bradford) recommended that we keep an eye on it and make sure she doesn't ever get too constipated.  Since that could pos...

Warmer weather heading our way

Things have been a little bit stressful around here lately so I thought I would blog about some good, fun times we've had these past few weeks.  The weather is warming up little by little and that makes me happy.  Here's fun moments: Channing actually made two shots in a row with his basketball.   He was so happy!  See that ball going in?! This was on a walk with Justin while I made dinner.  The kids discovered how fun it is to put stuff in the gutter water and watch it float down.   Nothing's cuter than a sleeping baby.  She loves her doggies.   This girl is such a character.  She's always doing funny stuff.   Almost 27 weeks pregnant.  :)

Warmth and Sunshine

On January 5th the family flew to California.  The reason for the trip was to go to Kate Kenney's wedding.  So we decided to make a trip of it and stay for a week in Malibu.   Here we are at the Boise Airport.  Of course our Allegiant flight got delayed by almost two hours.  I was just happy to finally get on the plane since at one point they made it sound like our flight might be canceled due to problems landing at LAX.   The kids love being on the plane.  The flight is just short enough that we didn't want to rip our hair out by the end of it.  Although Mckenzie was super pissed every time I didn't let her walk down the aisle.  She's definitely feeling a little big to be sitting on a lap the whole time.   First day in Malibu!  This is Zuma beach.  It's just down the road from the beach house.  We can actually see and hear the ocean from the beach house balcony.  That's my favorite noise.   P...

I hate dinner time

I hate dinner time because it means listening to both kids whine about what I made for dinner.  Mckenzie doesn't typically whine, she just refuses to eat her food.  Channing on the other hand is very vocal about what's on his plate.  "Oh that's disgusting!"  "That's not my favorite!"  We've been working really hard over the last month or so to get Channing to try new things.  He's always been a poor eater and would prefer chicken nuggets or a peanut butter sandwich at every meal.  The rule over the last month has been that he has to try a bite of everything on his plate.  Sometimes he surprises us and does really well.  We had turkey meat loaf the other night and he actually ate a lot of meat (refused to eat his baked fries but ate meatloaf, weird kid).  Last night both kids did great with pizza.  I make homemade pizza a few times a month and kids seem to like it, as long as there is no evidence of vegetables on their bites. Then ...

It's a boy!

On Jan 4, 2017 we had a gender reveal party.  The day before Justin and I went to my 20 week ultrasound.  Everything with baby Hamilton looks great.  I was happy to see that all measurements are right on schedule.  Which means baby Hamilton isn't getting too big, yet.  Julia watched the kids so Justin and I could go to the ultrasound.  When I picked up the kids I gave Julia the envelope that said if it was a boy or a girl.  Then the next day she made this awesome looking cake for the party.  Justin thought it would be a girl.  So of course I had to guess opposite and say it was a boy.   No nuts or nuts? We had the Crawfords, Hamiltons, and a neighbor friend (Leahy's) over for the big reveal.  We were all surprised to see a blue cake!!  It'll be so fun to have a mini Channing! That cake was dang good. The spread. Cute pic of Mckenzie that Julia took. Here I'm 20 weeks and Julia is 24 weeks  ...

What's new

I haven't posted a blog post since September!  Wow.  Now it's 2017!  Here's a summary of what's new with the Hamilton crew. I found out that I'm pregnant and I've been constantly super nauseous and tired.  Luckily that is all behind me now and I'm currently 20 weeks along. Today we got our 20 week ultrasound.  Baby Hamilton looks healthy! Yay!  We had the ultrasound tech write the gender in an envelope.  Then I gave the envelope to Julia who is going to make a cake for our gender reveal party tomorrow.  I'm so excited to see whether it's blue or pink!  Justin thinks it'll be a girl so I have to be different and say it's a boy. The kids were skeletons for Halloween. In November Julia took our family pictures and they turned out awesome.  Also, we spent Thanksgiving with the Hamiltons. Justin and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. Channing is growing up fast.  He had his first week of Sunbeams. ...
