What's new

I haven't posted a blog post since September!  Wow.  Now it's 2017!  Here's a summary of what's new with the Hamilton crew.

I found out that I'm pregnant and I've been constantly super nauseous and tired.  Luckily that is all behind me now and I'm currently 20 weeks along.

Today we got our 20 week ultrasound.  Baby Hamilton looks healthy! Yay!  We had the ultrasound tech write the gender in an envelope.  Then I gave the envelope to Julia who is going to make a cake for our gender reveal party tomorrow.  I'm so excited to see whether it's blue or pink!  Justin thinks it'll be a girl so I have to be different and say it's a boy.

The kids were skeletons for Halloween.

In November Julia took our family pictures and they turned out awesome.  Also, we spent Thanksgiving with the Hamiltons.

Justin and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary.

Channing is growing up fast.  He had his first week of Sunbeams.  He wasn't too sure about it and looked like he was on the verge of tears.  But we made it through church with no freak outs!  I think it definitely helped that his teacher had come prepared with fruit snacks.

Mckenzie is almost 18 months old.  This girl is on another level with her vocabulary.  I don't know what we're gonna do with such a verbal child.  She has the vocabulary of at least a 2 year old!

My brother Jeff passed the NCLEX and became a RN.  And now he's starting a job in the NICU.  So happy for him.

My parents came to visit for Christmas and I think they got their fill of cold weather and snow.  Mckenzie loves saying "papa".  It was awesome to have my mom or dad get up Mckenzie every morning.  She loves them.  Channing loves wrestling and being swung by his feet by papa.  We went out to eat at Barbacoa with just the adults and I stuffed myself till it hurt.  We went to see the Caldwell lights and almost froze to death.  Mom helped Ryan pull out his first loose tooth.  We went to our usual Souper Salad for dinner.  Then the guys went to a FMT class.

For Christmas Eve Day we met up with the Hamilton's to go bowling.  Then we had Christmas Eve dinner at their house in Caldwell.  We were planning on leaving at 7pm so we could get home to do some family traditions and get the kids to bed.  But it turned into us spending the night because we were snowed in.  I'm glad no one needed medical attention in the middle of the night or we would've been screwed!  I was sad to not be at home for Christmas morning since I had lots of things planned for the kids but we're lucky to have good family to host us for the night.  They really worked hard making our Christmas morning special.  We finally made it home on Christmas day at 1:30pm.  Everyone was so exhausted.  Then we had an amazing prime rib dinner at the Crawford's house.

If you're wondering what we did for New Years...absolutely nothing.  Okay, not totally nothing.  We did take down our Christmas tree and decorations.  Justin caught mine and Channing's cold and so we stayed home all weekend.

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin!  I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for.  Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it?  Yes, I am lucky.  Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn.  Mmmmm.  I love the new things Channing learns everyday.  The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try.   Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic.  It was fun.  But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day.  Oh well.  At least half the day was awesome!  Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere.  And sitting in it....

Merry Christmas

It was a white Christmas here in Meridian, Idaho.  On Christmas Eve we went to church for an hour and then came home and let Channing and Mckenzie each open one present.  We made peanut butter blossoms for Santa's cookies.  And we wrote letter's to Santa.  We also watched mormon messages about the birth of Christ.  For a few weeks the kids were earning pieces of straw to put in Jesus's manger.  Each good act or deed equaled a piece of straw placed in the manger.  Then on Christmas Eve we placed Jesus in the manger and talked about how all our acts of kindness created a nice, soft bed for baby Jesus to lay in.  It was a great visual for them.  (I got this idea from my Relief Society last year.) Making cookies. Mckenzie opened a book from the Crawford's.   Channing got a fort building kit from the Crawford's. Letter's the Santa.   These cute kids. Who knew Mckenzie wanted a puppy.... ...

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!
