Winter

I was looking at the last post that I did and it looked so warm....  Now it's full blown winter.  I think I've been avoiding doing a "winter" blog post because I'm in denial that I'll have to deal with being cold for the next 5 months.  Last winter we lived in a apartment in Rexburg.  Channing was younger and didn't care about going outside.  I'm really happy to be living in a house now, but it sure is harder to keep warm.  You'd think wearing a long-sleeve shirt inside would be enough...but it's not.  And now Channing loves to be outside.  Me?  Not so much.    Yesterday I was outside with Channing.  He started touching the icicles on the Jeep and I guess his hands got really cold because he started to cry and hold up his hands to me.  (He wasn't wearing gloves.)  So we came inside and warmed up.    Justin is going on a camp out tonight with the deacons.  I hope he doesn't freeze!!  I can'...

Fall Weather

We are loving the Fall weather.  Unfortunately this week it starts to get real cold.  It'll be interesting to see how this winter goes.  Channing is very active and loves being outside more than anything.  I'm not sure how I'm gonna survive being outside in the crazy cold weather!  It doesn't seem to affect Channing hardly at all, so I'm the one that's freezing the whole time.  He'll definitely keep me active this winter! Channing had cream cheese frosting for the first time.  He's hooked.  Always finding new places to hide. Channing and I spent Saturday afternoon raking leaves while Justin worked on the Jeep.  Channing was a great little helper!! Channing was super interested in watching Justin work on the jeep and mimicked everything he did.  And don't mind the cut on Channing's forehead...he attempted to climb a bookcase.

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a quick Halloween post so I won't ever forget how adorable Channing was.  He was a scarecrow this Halloween.  We used a pair of his overalls and I sewed on a few patches of material and then we stuffed his pockets with straw.  The paint on the nose thing didn't work so well...he rubbed it off the first time around.  Our ward did a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot.  Channing was a little skeptical about it all when we first started.  But he quickly got the hang of walking up to people, grabbing candy, and putting it in his bucket.  Someone gave him a sucker and he immediately had to have it!  At least he's easy to please!  Such a friendly scarecrow...had to say bye to the trick-or-treaters as they left.

Growing up

Although Channing is still sick with croup he has learned a new skill...wiping himself.  Now every time after I change his diaper he needs a wipe of his own.  His bellybutton must be real clean!

October is almost over

Time is flying by....  I usually end the day by thinking, oh my goodness I have so much to do this week!  Between school, work, certifications for work, exercising, and family life I feel busy!  Julia and Cameron and family came to visit earlier this month.  That was really fun.  We mainly just hung out and took walks.  Channing loved having friends to play with.  It'll be great to live close to family one day.     Do you know what else will be great??  Being done with school this December!!  It's so stinkin hard to have a busy day and then realize I need to do home work.  Blah, i hate it.  At least this is my last semester.  Yes!    One random moment of this month was when some driver drove up our curb, onto our grass, hit the side of our Xterra, and then drove away before we ran outside to see what just happened.  Luckily the Xterra isn't badly damaged.  The hit shifted the fr...

It's been a while....

I haven't written a blog post in so long!  Since I started working I've been much busier and my days at home are usually filled with laundry, cooking, cleaning, and having fun with Channing.  Recently I had my first L&D night shift.  And I'm happy to say that I survived!  It was actually really slow. Which made it feel really long.  At about 3am I hit a wall and felt like I was gonna fall asleep on the spot.  But I found that if I get up and do something then I wake up.      Channing has been really sick.  He's never been this sick before.  On Monday I took him to the doctor and he ended up having a double ear infection, strep throat, and a possible UTI.  It's only Wednesday now and he's so much better after starting on an antibiotic.  I'm grateful for doctors and antibiotics.  And Justin gave him a blessing, what an awesome guy I married!  After Channing was so sick and grumpy ...

New Job

This week I started my new job as a labor and delivery nurse.  It was three days straight of 12 hour shifts.  I was so nervous but in the end I think things went well.  I enjoy being there and working.  I think my favorite part is feeling like I'm helping out these moms.  I've got another 5 weeks of orientation and a lot to learn!     The hardest part about this week was missing Channing.  Since my shift goes from 7am to 7pm Channing is often in bed already before I get home.  Which means I go a long time with out seeing him.  I think things are going well with his babysitter.  We've been told he's taken good naps and plays well.  So I really hope he's happy!  My main goal about taking this job is making sure Channing is happy and comfortable at the babysitters house.     There were a few evenings that Justin kept Channing awake until I made it home.  Channing was so cu...
