A gender reveal party and high waisted pants

Happy almost February!  That means it's going to get warm right?  I wish!  Yesterday we celebrated Justin's 29th birthday.  I decorated with streamers and balloons.  We ate steak, potatoes, broccoli, and garlic bread for dinner.  And for dessert I made a Reese's Peanut Butter Cheesecake, specifically picked out by Justin.  We were so stuffed by the end of the night.  Channing's favorite part was playing with balloons and helping Justin blow out candles.  We think he's all ready to go for his 2nd birthday in a month.
Speaking of parties we went to Julia and Cameron's gender reveal party a few weeks ago.  Here's some pictures.  It was a fun night!  Even though I voted that it would be a girl I was still totally shocked when they pulled out a piece of pink cake.

Ryan's face is the best here..."wait what? but I wanted it to be a boy!"  (He was less than thrilled.)
In other news Channing and I are surviving winter by playing inside, going to the library for storytime, and playing with his best friend Quinn (who has a slide and tent, so he's always thrilled to visit their house.)  Here's what Channing's been up to.
Working on his balancing skills.
Eating lots of yogurt.

Stacking my fake candles.

And running around like a grandpa because Justin pulled his pants up too high, on purpose of course.

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin!  I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for.  Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it?  Yes, I am lucky.  Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn.  Mmmmm.  I love the new things Channing learns everyday.  The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try.   Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic.  It was fun.  But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day.  Oh well.  At least half the day was awesome!  Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere.  And sitting in it....

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!

Isaac Robert Hamilton

I've been meaning to write a blog post since Isaac was born.  But every time I think about writing a post I get over whelmed with everything I want to write and all the cute pictures I want to share.  So this blog post will just be about the day Isaac was born.  (Or as much as I can remember! The details are already fading!!) On May 14th, Mother's Day, my mom flew into Boise.  Gotta have my momma as my labor coach!  Let me just say, I was so happy that this was my last Sunday at church.  Don't get me wrong, I love church, but at 39 weeks pregnant I was feeling super uncomfortable sitting or standing for the 3 hours.  I was scheduled to be induced the next day, the 15th.  After a rough night of not being able to sleep well, mainly because I couldn't shut my brain off, I called the hospital at 6am to make sure they had room for me, and they said to "come on in!"  Yay!  This was actually going to happen! Justin and I arrived at St Al...
