Leaves for Days

This fall we discovered that Jett might like rolling in the leaves just as much as the kids.  Make a pile of leaves and you can expect the kids to enjoy it for a while.  I loved watching Isaac plop down on a pile of leaves and lean back into it while splashing leaves all around.   Can you see Jett between the two kids?  He never missed out on a good pile of leaves.  Pictured below is what half our yard looked like before we started attacking it with rakes and leaf blowers.  This year we paid Ryan and his neighbor Spencer to rake up our backyard.  That was $20 well spent!  It made clean up much easier having so much help.    Working hard! That evening we reached about 30 bags of leaves.  Pictured below is what our yard looked like a few days after raking.  See all the leaves blowing in the air?  Isaac was by the fence yelling with excitement at all the leaves flying around. Channing has been...

Picking Pumpkins and Pony Rides

My kids love Halloween.  I don't know where they get this from.  I'm very minimalistic when it comes to Halloween.  I would be happy just having pumpkins by the front door.  Channing and Mckenzie love Halloween!  They want more and more decoration.  And every house they see they either say, "wow, can we decorate our house like theirs?" or it's "why haven't they decorated yet?"  Being the good mom that I am our front yard gets creepy spider webs, spiders, a skeleton, and sticky decorations on the windows.  I think this is the perfect amount of decoration, the kids think otherwise.  Until Halloween is over they ask again and again for more decorations.   This year we went to Farmstead twice!  Once with just the family and once with Cici.  The kids always have fun.  And I was thankful that it was warmer this year. Picking pumpkins was Mckenzie's favorite part.   Cici spoiled the kids and ...

Jett's New Chew Toy

Last week I was having some bad moments with the kids.  You know how it goes.  Some days I feel like I put out fire after fire.  On one particular day it felt like Isaac's job was to pull everything out of the cabinets, climb everything in sight, and hit Mckenzie.  At one point in the day I was feeling over overwhelmed and honestly just plain pissed off.  While muttering negative things under my breath and picking something off the floor I turned around to find Isaac sitting in Jett's water bowl.  Just sitting contently in a bowl of water.  I had to changed his pants and diaper.  Oh, and Isaac was so proud and happy to be sitting in water.  I love you so much Isaac! Please stop making me crazy! Mckenzie asks me at least once a day to take a picture of her and Jett.  Jett looks like he's saying, "Yup, she's sitting on me again."  Channing = most adorable kindergartener.  Went to parent teacher conferences last week...

"Can we go get ice cream?"

Today's quote is brought to you by Channing.  But if you know him you wouldn't be surprised that he asks to go get ice cream all the time.  Can't blame him though.  Who doesn't love ice cream!? Occasionally, like twice a month, we'll take the family out on a date to get ice cream.  Sometimes it's driving all together to Albertson's down the road to grab a quart of ice cream.  Other times it's going to get frozen yogurt.  Pictured below is a trip to Reed's Dairy at the beginning of September.  That ice cream is da bomb.  Note about Miss Mickey May, she usually ends up eating my ice cream.  It's not that she picks a bad flavored ice cream but that she always thinks mine is a little better.  Good thing I'm willing to share!  So here she is eating my ice cream. The next family date night, yesterday, was to McDonald's.  I know, we're fancy like that.  But hey, it's cheap and about 2 minutes from our house....

"My Boogers Are Small"

Channing learned how to whistle.  Now he whistles all day long.  He's still enjoying kindergarten.  His favorite things are tetherball (he calls it tuggerball), PE, recess, and going to get the milk.  Every few weeks he takes a turn with a partner to get the classes milk.  They can choose regular milk or chocolate milk, I bet you can guess what he picks, everyday for a snack.  Kindergarten is exhausting! Some quotes from Mckenzie: As she's picking her nose, "my boogers are small."  I asked her one day while watching her paint at the dinner table, "why are you so pretty?"  Her response, "Because I wash my face again and again!" We planted a hydrangea.  Unfortunately Jett ate most of it when we were inside.  There's a few leaves left.  Hopefully it'll come back. Three things Isaac loves, climbing everything, chocolate zucchini muffins, and playing in water.  He's the only baby we've ever had that'll d...
