The Fastest .5 Year Ever!

It's June!  That means we are half way through this year.  I often think that I wish I could capture tiny moments through out the day because I forget them so quickly.  Like the funny things Mckenzie says.  Or the moments when Channing and I are kicking a soccer ball.  And when Isaac shows off his dance moves.  I hope one day we can rewind our lives and enjoy it in slow motion - the good moments anyways.  The breaking up fights moments we can fast forward through.

On May 25th, before heading to a game night, Justin and I went out to dinner at Diablo and Sons in downtown Boise.  The downtown scene is so different!  We enjoyed some very unique tacos.  Then we walked to Ben and Jerry's for some amazing ice cream.  Mmmm, so good.  The Tonight Dough is still my fav.  Then we went to a friends house and played Jungle Uno.  It was super fun!

Mckenzie got a cute haircut.  She's the cutest!  Then we drove to the Meridian temple and enjoyed walking around the grounds.  When I asked Channing what do we do in the temple he said, "It's were we use the priesthood."  Amazing answer!

On Memorial Day we went on a hike to Elephant Rock.  No idea why it's called that.  Short, easy hikes are our current stage of life.  And I'm all for that!

Mckenzie and I picked flowers the whole walk.  Every minute it was, "oh here's a good one!"

We've been getting a ton of rain lately.  May had lots of rainy and stormy days.  One day Channing and I spotted a double rainbow.  When Mckenzie saw it she said it was a "miracle."

We planted a very small garden on the side of out house that gets a lot of sun.  We've planted zucchini, green beans, and pumpkins.  I'm excited to see how it does this summer.  Channing's really gotten into gardening and wants to check on the plants every morning.  Every time a new seedling pops up they get so excited!

These are some fun pictures we took before church on Memorial weekend.

I enjoy the moments when Isaac mellows out and snuggles in my lap.  This only occurs when he's watching a show.

Mckenzie is all about having a friends over to play.  And they usually play amazingly well together.  3 year old girls are the cutest!  I love their imagination.

Channing has now lost two teeth!  His bottom two.  He's so excited when the tooth fairy visits.  This is a picture Channing drew at school.  He even drew the tooth under his pillow! And I love how he spells toothfairy, "tofarey."  Haha!

Another picture Channing drew at school is him and Justin out camping and sitting by the fire.  They went on a father and sons campout this weekend and had a blast!  Justin even won the dutch oven dessert contest!

This weekend I took Mckenzie and Isaac to have a picnic with Evie.  Evie passed away almost 1 year ago.  It does not feel that long ago.  I think about her everyday.  Mckenzie is my constant reminder of Evie and how precious life is.  Mckenzie was so excited to have a picnic with Evie and called it a "celebration."  And I agree!  We are so grateful that we knew Evie and we celebrate her everyday by doing our best in this life.

It's a Good Life

Happy Father's Day to Justin!  I honestly think he is the best husband and dad that I could ever ask for.  Did you know that when Channing wakes up randomly at night all I have to do it shake Justin awake and he'll go take care of it?  Yes, I am lucky.  Dinner was steak, asparagus, and bacon wrapped corn.  Mmmmm.  I love the new things Channing learns everyday.  The other day he saw me use an oven mitt and had to give it a try.   Yesterday I walked around the mall, shopped at Target, and got a strawberry limeade from Sonic.  It was fun.  But then Channing didn't want to take a second nap and was cranky all day.  Oh well.  At least half the day was awesome!  Yup, Channing still loves pouring water everywhere.  And sitting in it....

Merry Christmas

It was a white Christmas here in Meridian, Idaho.  On Christmas Eve we went to church for an hour and then came home and let Channing and Mckenzie each open one present.  We made peanut butter blossoms for Santa's cookies.  And we wrote letter's to Santa.  We also watched mormon messages about the birth of Christ.  For a few weeks the kids were earning pieces of straw to put in Jesus's manger.  Each good act or deed equaled a piece of straw placed in the manger.  Then on Christmas Eve we placed Jesus in the manger and talked about how all our acts of kindness created a nice, soft bed for baby Jesus to lay in.  It was a great visual for them.  (I got this idea from my Relief Society last year.) Making cookies. Mckenzie opened a book from the Crawford's.   Channing got a fort building kit from the Crawford's. Letter's the Santa.   These cute kids. Who knew Mckenzie wanted a puppy.... ...

Can't Wait To Be Done!

I'm really getting tired of school.  I'm almost done with my second to last semester of school.  Which means there is a lot of homework to finish in these next few weeks.  It seems that when I have homework to do I have a cleaner house because I'll usually clean before I decide to do homework.  I guess it's my way of procrastinating.  Other ways of procrastinating are: Checking on my garden to see what's growing.  Above is zucchini.  Buying a new bike! Making spinach and cheese quiche.  Playing peek a boo with Channing. Taking Channing to the park! It's been difficult to constantly have school in the back of my mind.  There's always some assignment I should be working on.  (I was just working on my physical assessment class and this blog post is my break.)  School has been great and I am grateful to be a RN.  I know school is important and I'm happy that I'll be done with my BSN in December!
