Our Thanksgiving

Days are flying by too fast and I cannot seem to keep this blog up to date.  We are already in the month of December!  November went by so fast.  I absolutely loved Thanksgiving with Jeff, Cortney, and Patrick staying at our house and my mom and dad visiting.  We ate some great food.  Cameron made a fantastic turkey in his smoker and all the sides were de-lish!  Some of my favorite moments were taking family pictures then going to chick fil-a for dinner.  Watching the new Spider Man movie with Jeff and Cortney.  Oh, and Jeff bought us all ben and jerry's, yup he's a good brother.  Shopping with my mom, sister, and sis-in-law.  Watching all the cousins play together.  My dad meeting Isaac for the first time.  Going out to breakfast with my mom and dad.  Channing's reaction to seeing Anna and Elsa characters at the Scentsy Commons Christmas lights--he's super bashful and his teenage years are going to be hilarious.  One not so awesome moment was Channing barfing at the Crawford's house moments after arriving there for a family dinner the day before my parents were going to leave.  Luckily he only threw up that one time and was fine the next day.  Thank heavens!

New things with the Hamilton's:

Justin and I have been working out more.  We got a gym membership and I've had lots of fun going to exercise classes a few times a week.  It feels good to be active and work on getting stronger.  I feel like for the last 4+ years I've been so busy with either being pregnant or just having a kid that I couldn't really get into exercising.  But I'm getting into it baby!

Mckenzie is doing better with her bowel problems.  We give her 1tsp a day of a laxative called Senexon.  This has kept her from being too constipated which in turn helps her not have small frequent poops all day.  Lucky me!  I'm changing 3-5 poops a day instead of 10+ a day.  She still has bad days though which I assume is related to her diet.

Channing is doing great at Pre-K.  He seems to really enjoy it.  He's awesome at writing his name now.  Most of the time he spells it CHANNN and then writes the I and G randomly on the page.  But he's getting better.  This morning I came downstairs to find Channing sitting on the couch in Justin's yellow Packer's hoodie.  He told me that he wasn't going to get dressed or do the dishes.  I asked "why's that?"  Then he lifted up the hoodie to show that he was already dressed and then ran to the dishwasher to show me that the silverware was already emptied.  I assumed that Justin had something to do with this so I messaged Justin at work and he said that Channing must have done all of that on his own after Justin left for work.  Moments like these make me think that hey I must be doing something right as a mom and Channing is a special kid.  (We got lucky.)

Isaac is a beast.  He's a serious tank of a baby.  He turned 6 months old a few weeks ago.  He'll wake up once or twice a night to be fed and put back to bed.  He takes about 3 naps a day.  And he's finally rolling from his back to his tummy.  He's pretty good at eating solid foods.  He's 6 month wellness check is in a few days.  I'm thinking he'll be 25 or 26 lbs.  No joke!

Okay, it's getting late and I shall bid you farewell....  This momma needs her sleep if you don't want me to be a major grouch!  Good night.

Isn't this picture the best!!!???  Channing holding Makayla's hand is precious!  We did not tell him to do that.

Have you ever tried running (more like slow jogging) with a double stroller?  My suggestion is to avoid it...unless you're into pain and frustration. I'm a morning workout person.  And I'm not talking about waking up before my kids at 6am and getting in a workout--I'm not crazy.  I'm into doing my workout when it's convenient and I don't have to sacrifice too much.  For example I don't like to exercise when I:  Have to wake up earlier than normal.  Stay up later than normal. Be too cold/hot for a long period of time. Or listen to a kid cry/whine the whole time.     Right now I've chosen to walk/jog in the morning after breakfast and before Mckenzie's nap.  That way the morning goes by quickly and I get a workout in.  Justin and I signed up for a race here in Meridian and that's my workout motivation...hence the jogging with a stroller.  I'm pretty sure the double stroller ways at least 75lbs with the kids in it....

$$ for Jeeps

Well I've done it again - bought another Jeep. But this time it was Melissa pushing me to do it! (what a good wife!) It's a 99 Grand Cherokee Limited (we previously had a Laredo by the same year.) The people were originally asking $4200 but we Hamiltoned them down to $2800 thanks to Melissa. I was talking & negotiating with the husband. And then the wife comes out appalled that the husband was coming down so much in price. And she snapped and said she was firm on $3000. So Melissa stepped up and said "I wouldn't give more than $2800."  The tension was high as the 2 women shot dagger-eyes at each other. Neither one backing down. Finally the husband agreed. And we drove it home. Then 2 days later I decided to list our Cherokee for sale around midnight, by noon the next day (today) I had it sold. It's been a busy day. So in 2012 alone, I've now owned 4 different vehicles. Melissa is the hospital today. She is just starting her preceptorship in labo...

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a quick Halloween post so I won't ever forget how adorable Channing was.  He was a scarecrow this Halloween.  We used a pair of his overalls and I sewed on a few patches of material and then we stuffed his pockets with straw.  The paint on the nose thing didn't work so well...he rubbed it off the first time around.  Our ward did a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot.  Channing was a little skeptical about it all when we first started.  But he quickly got the hang of walking up to people, grabbing candy, and putting it in his bucket.  Someone gave him a sucker and he immediately had to have it!  At least he's easy to please!  Such a friendly scarecrow...had to say bye to the trick-or-treaters as they left.
