Birthday's, moving, and more

It sure feels like a lot has changed in the last few weeks.  On March 1st we celebrated Channing's 3rd birthday.  On March 5th we moved to a new house here in Meridian.  On March 9th we celebrated my 25th birthday.  I'd say that the move went well.  A lot of people showed up to help us pack up the moving truck and unload it at the house.  My dad even came to stay with us for about a week and a half to help with the move.  It still feels strange to be in a new house.  But it's starting to feel more normal as time goes on and we make it more homey with pictures and decorations.  I guess we've been busy unpacking boxes, celebrating birthday's, and helping Channing practice his new peddle bike.
Our typical day is playing with the kids, getting out of the house to go to the library or grocery store, naps, making dinner, going on a family walk, putting kids to bed, hanging up pictures, cleaning, Justin training for his 10k, and relaxing.
Here are pictures from the last two weeks.
All those boxes...I'm so glad we're all moved and done with packing.

For Channing's 3rd birthday we went to chick fil a for lunch, then got his free bday doughnut at Krispy Kreme, and then had a hot dog dinner and cake for dessert.

Opening presents.

3 years old! Wow!

I love his face as everyone sings him Happy Birthday.

And we moved! Kenzie snuggling with Papa...so cute.

Isn't this so nice?! Our neighbors came over to meet us and even gave us a gift card!

Cameron and my dad sucked out several small dogs worth of lint from the drier vent.  It was sooo clogged!

This is the pond close to our house.

And there are lots of ducks that Channing loves to feed.

Such a sweetie.

Channing liked to ask Papa to bounce him on his knee.

Mckenzie and Emily...cutest cousins.

Channing got to lick the spoon Julia used to frost the cake. (And I'm not sure why Ryan's face is like that, lol.)

Happy Birthday to me!!

Julia made me a s'mores cheesecake.  Super good!! Yum yum.

Papa helping Channing practice his peddle bike.

You're never too old to swing at the park.  Am I right??

Our cute family and house.

All the wind lately makes for good kite flying weather.

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a quick Halloween post so I won't ever forget how adorable Channing was.  He was a scarecrow this Halloween.  We used a pair of his overalls and I sewed on a few patches of material and then we stuffed his pockets with straw.  The paint on the nose thing didn't work so well...he rubbed it off the first time around.  Our ward did a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot.  Channing was a little skeptical about it all when we first started.  But he quickly got the hang of walking up to people, grabbing candy, and putting it in his bucket.  Someone gave him a sucker and he immediately had to have it!  At least he's easy to please!  Such a friendly scarecrow...had to say bye to the trick-or-treaters as they left.

My reality check

Remember how in my last few posts I talked about how we were teaching Channing to put himself back to sleep by letting him cry it out?  Since Channing has been sick for over a week that has all gone down the drain....  The poor kid is so congested all the time.  When we wakes up at night he usually will not take his binky and fall back asleep.  Instead he needs his nose suctioned, which usually requires Justin holding Channing's head still or it's impossible.  And lately he will not go back to sleep at all until he's fed again.  Last night it was every 3 hours.  I don't know if it's because his throat hurts or he just wants to be held.  Whatever the reason, nights have been a little rough around here.  Oh, and his naps during the day have been pretty bad.  Crying a lot before falling asleep and then only sleeping for 20 or 30 minutes.  Motherhood is definitely a 24/7 job.  With no lunch breaks.  And get this!  Channin...

60 Things I Love About My Mom

In honor of my mom turning 60 years old on February 5th I have written 60 things that I love about her. 1. My mom lives the gospel. 2. She taught me how to follow the prophet. 3. My mom loves to travel. 4. With each baby I had she took the time to be there.  And then stayed for at least a week following the birth to help me at home.  She even brought be breakfast in bed. 5. My mom always fulfills her calling.  I remember when she was Relief Society President she was gone on my 15th birthday at an Enrichment meeting.  I was a bit peeved about it.  But now when I think about it I am inspired by her ability to 100% fulfill her calling and show up for her fellow RS sisters. 6. She taught me how to cook.  We always had a vegetable on the plate. 7. She thoroughly adores her grandkids. 8. My mom can do hard things. 9. My mom is a RN which is no easy job.  I know her job is often stressful.  She's an amazing labor and delivery nurs...
