2014 Update

I cannot believe that 2013 has come to an end.  It was a great year.  Our favorite thing, of course, is adding Channing into our lives.  He is now 10 months old.  Crazy!!  Crawling, pulling himself up on everything, pushing trucks, sleeping through the night (5% of the time HAH), and talking up a storm (not real words of course).  So, yup, our baby is cute.  I think we'll keep him.
Love that smile!

In other news....  Justin graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Information Technology.  Woohoo!!
Channing is very proud of his dad.

He is now working full-time at a company called Netmark which is located in Idaho Falls.  And after searching for a few months and going to see 5 different houses/duplexes we have settled on a house to rent in Idaho Falls.  From the house Justin's work is 2.6 miles away.  6 minutes by car.  14 minutes by bike.  (Thank you google maps.)  I'm looking forward to having him at home for a lunch break every so often.
Here's a google maps view.  Cute, older, single level house.

Moving to a new place scares me!  First of all, Justin and I both hate moving.  Hopefully this time around I will be more help with the whole moving process.  When we moved into our current apartment I was in the early stages of being pregnant with Channing, which means Justin basically moved us by himself.   When it came time to move the heavy items Justin walked around our apartment complex knocking on doors seeing if anyone could help.  The first door he knocked on ended up belonging to a elderly woman.  Who was quick to say, "sure, I'll help!"  Haha.

It will be so strange to move from Rexburg.  April 2009 was when I first moved to Rexburg, and it was September 2009 for Justin.  And now it has become our home.  It will be tough to leave the friends and memories we've made.  Idaho Falls is only 30 minutes away, but still!  We're basically entering major adulthood here.  It will be an adjustment to move to a neighborhood where our neighbors are at completely different phases of their lives than us.  Since Channing has been born I have really relied on awesome neighbors for babysitters or just somewhere to go escape our apartment.

Anyways...I'm excited to be entering a new phase of our life.  Hope all goes well.

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to do a quick Halloween post so I won't ever forget how adorable Channing was.  He was a scarecrow this Halloween.  We used a pair of his overalls and I sewed on a few patches of material and then we stuffed his pockets with straw.  The paint on the nose thing didn't work so well...he rubbed it off the first time around.  Our ward did a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot.  Channing was a little skeptical about it all when we first started.  But he quickly got the hang of walking up to people, grabbing candy, and putting it in his bucket.  Someone gave him a sucker and he immediately had to have it!  At least he's easy to please!  Such a friendly scarecrow...had to say bye to the trick-or-treaters as they left.

My reality check

Remember how in my last few posts I talked about how we were teaching Channing to put himself back to sleep by letting him cry it out?  Since Channing has been sick for over a week that has all gone down the drain....  The poor kid is so congested all the time.  When we wakes up at night he usually will not take his binky and fall back asleep.  Instead he needs his nose suctioned, which usually requires Justin holding Channing's head still or it's impossible.  And lately he will not go back to sleep at all until he's fed again.  Last night it was every 3 hours.  I don't know if it's because his throat hurts or he just wants to be held.  Whatever the reason, nights have been a little rough around here.  Oh, and his naps during the day have been pretty bad.  Crying a lot before falling asleep and then only sleeping for 20 or 30 minutes.  Motherhood is definitely a 24/7 job.  With no lunch breaks.  And get this!  Channin...

60 Things I Love About My Mom

In honor of my mom turning 60 years old on February 5th I have written 60 things that I love about her. 1. My mom lives the gospel. 2. She taught me how to follow the prophet. 3. My mom loves to travel. 4. With each baby I had she took the time to be there.  And then stayed for at least a week following the birth to help me at home.  She even brought be breakfast in bed. 5. My mom always fulfills her calling.  I remember when she was Relief Society President she was gone on my 15th birthday at an Enrichment meeting.  I was a bit peeved about it.  But now when I think about it I am inspired by her ability to 100% fulfill her calling and show up for her fellow RS sisters. 6. She taught me how to cook.  We always had a vegetable on the plate. 7. She thoroughly adores her grandkids. 8. My mom can do hard things. 9. My mom is a RN which is no easy job.  I know her job is often stressful.  She's an amazing labor and delivery nurs...
