"wghoosh wghoosh wghoosh" That's the sound of Melissa's insides... Not so much the digestion - but the baby's heartbeat. IT'S ALIVE! (I tried for about 15 minutes to figure out the best way to spell that heartbeat noise you hear from the doppler thing.)
It took the nurse practitioner a little while to find the heartbeat. She said she was having to chase the baby around, and then said "Looks like you're going to be a skinny mom with how much this one is moving around. Chasing it all over the place." So at least the child will be able to help Melissa keep her fitness goals!
The doctor was smart to use the doppler for this. Not only was she able to find the heartbeat, but also able to warn us of the rain coming tomorrow!
So Melissa is now in her 2nd trimester. For the guys out there, that means she is 1/3 of the way done. Her energy levels are starting to return to normal (with periodic bursts of extreme hyperness.) And she usually doesn't feel nauseous anymore either. Good things are happening.
