Electronic appreciation

At work, I've been trying to learn a new programming languages. It works with SVGs (scalable vector graphics) to display data dynamically. It's called D3.js - it's a Javascript library . It's pretty neat, the browser draws  interactive graphs for you on the fly. I'm reading  a book to help me with this. The author of the book (or rather PDF) keeps saying things like "Now the astute among you will have noticed..." The first couple times he said that, I thought "Hey, wait I'm astute. But I didn't notice that." The book had offended me! A few pages later, he said it again. But I had noticed what he was saying. I felt validated & complimented. I realized an electronic programming document was playing games with my emotions. Guess it's a sign that I'm becoming more nerdy. If this persists, I'll no longer have a need for human interaction... Anyways, here is an example of something that I made. The sort button allows you...

YouTube Parenting

Before we had Channing, we ran into a bit of a problem setting up the crib. Well, getting the crib setup wasn't a problem, however, putting the bumper pads on the crib was. These ones are supposed to be safe for children, being that they can still breath through holes if they fall asleep with their faces pressed up against it. It comes in two pieces, and each end has velcro. We had the right idea in trying to install them ourselves, but it just wasn't quite right. So, we did what every other unskilled  person does - turn to the internet. We watched a video on how to properly install these pieces of fabric on a crib. Thank goodness for YouTube! How are any of us alive today if our parents didn't have such a resource? Thankfully, there are also videos such as this one with exercise balls - that show what things to avoid as a parent. But if we don't have exercise balls, then how are we to be entertained by our children? Medical bills or entertainment? hmmm.
